Wild Horses on the Web - 28.08.07
Horse-lovers anywhere in the world are now able to visit the Wild Horses of the Namib any time, without travelling to south-western Namibia. The new website 'www.wild-horses-namibia.com' contains a host of exciting information: about the origins of the daring desert steeds, how they conquered their harsh habitat in the Namib and how they interact. Of course there are also numerous photos to illustrate the Wild Horses’ history and present-day.
Visitors to the website are also kept posted with the latest occurrences and events in the area around Garub, west of Aus. Biologist Telané Greyling monitors the herd and grazing conditions at regular intervals. The aim is not only to let the public know about how the horses in Namib Naukluft Park are doing, but also to take timely precautions against possible crisis situations in times of drought.
